Have You Seen the Splendor?

The desert and the parched land will be glad;
the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.

Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom;
it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;

they will see the glory of the LORD,

the splendor of our God.
--Isaiah 35: 1&2

Isaiah's "Joy of the Redeemed" chapter...

And though the prophet provides the vision of things to come, we can celebrate our redemption today with joy...and find God and His splendor in our springtime.

* * *

We celebrated my father-in-law's 80th birthday recently.
The crocuses are blooming in Connecticut!
More signs of spring are sprouting all the time--literally!
Watch for them...God's presence in His creation.

I love your pictures. They're a little like fall, spring and summer all together.

Hope all is well!

Happy Birthday to RJ's dad.

I love God's splendor. Daffodils are my favorite. :-)

Until I got to the bottom of this post, I thought all of the pictures were taken where you live in VA. We used to live in Chesapeake. My daffodils and hyacinths would all be blooming about right now. My parents live in NY state and my mom would always be jealous that I already had flowers! We live in PA now, but I would move back to Chesapeake in a heartbeat!

Missing VA,

I love the pictures. Isn't it amazing that after months and months of dead, brown, earth it faithfully rejuvnates and brings forth new life. I marvel at our Creator and how He makes all things new.

Your pictures tie perfectly into Isaiah. I'm reading (still) Isaiah and after a winter of judgement and punishment, fresh life blows through revealing a loving and faithful God. He is our redeemer and hope for the future.

Thanks so much for your comments on my blog. Your words always connect straight to my heart. :-)

Oh how I love the slendor and rebirth in Spring! Beth said while we walked Toby today...Mom the grass is thankful for the rain today cause see how green it is...It'a smiling!

Thanks for your kind words today. Mr P is healing. Yesterday while sharing with me details of the funeral we both cried and then instead of a nap (he'd only slept 4 hours Sat night) we went for a glorious walk and out for ice cream after Joy choir. We held hands a little tighter and hugged a bit harder.

Thanks for your support. You are a faithful thoughtful friend who gives words and actions that show others how much they are loved by you and especially by God! You definately are His hands reaching out!

Hey Sue,
I'd rather not post this on your blog but don't have your email.

"I would challenge you, again, to just know His presence in your life--come rain or come shine--and to thrive in that. (It's that vine and branches thing Jesus talked about--you just keep attached, OK?)"

You are a wise woman and a great encouragement to me. :-)
